We hope these two sentences bring a smile to your face and you will continue reading to see what Renée has to say about her recent experience with the RRAR REALTOR® Giving Network…
“Do you ever wonder if what you are doing really matters? I had the most humbling experience last month (July 2022) and wanted to share it (this is long but bear with me). I have had the privilege of serving for several years on the RRAR REALTOR® Giving Network (RGN) Board. This is the charity arm of our local REALTOR association. Leslie Williams a past President pitched this idea about grants the first year I was on the board when I was mostly just trying to learn the ropes—we were able to grant $3,000. Fast forward to July 2022 and we granted $75,000 with plans to grant at least $50,000 more this year! How amazing is that?! Our board, which is made up of some pretty spectacular and smart people was able to present two of the checks that will directly impact several people’s lives while we were at Oak City Cares. This is yet ANOTHER amazing LOCAL non-profit I’ve been introduced to over the last five years. We toured their facility that acts as the web that connects people to the services they need but at the same time helps people with basic needs like hot showers, washer, and dryer facilities, charging their phones, serving meals on the weekends, among many many other things. The need is real and I have seen it first hand, every donation matters, and every minute of your time matters when you are volunteering. While I am in my last term I can’t help but reflect on all the people we have helped through both small and large donations and everything in between. My challenge to all of you is to find a way to help and give back to your community. And I am always happy to answer any questions!” – Renée
Together REALTORS® are Investing in Neighbors
The RRAR REALTOR® Giving Network harnesses the collective giving power of REALTORS® and their partners to support our neighbors and improve housing solutions in the community. Through the Community Grants Program, they provide funding for general support to nonprofits that address unmet housing needs in Wake County. Through Cool for Wake, they supply free window A/C units to senior citizens referred by Wake County Human Services. With Project Angel Tree, they spread holiday joy by giving gifts to children referred by Wake County Guardian ad Litem. The network furnishes apartments for formerly homeless families that are referred by local housing nonprofits. The list of who they help in the Triangle goes on and on and you can help, too!
