HREG In the Community: The Salvation Army’s Back-to-School Bash With Project CATCH

Every kid needs a bookbag, pencils, and paper to head back to school but many children do not have access to these items. That is where the Project CATCH team at The Salvation Army comes in. At Hillman Real Estate Group at eXp Realty, we are always on the lookout for opportunities to help out children in and around Wake County, and The Salvation Army makes it easy to do that. During the month of July, Project CATCH collected money and school supplies for children in need. We were happy to be able to donate the items below to help their cause.

About Project CATCH

Project CATCH From The Salvation Army

Project CATCH – Community Action Targeting Children who are Homeless—a program of The Salvation Army, founded in 2011, is a collaborative case management model that provides youth-focused services to children ages zero through eighteen years old experiencing homelessness. Through their collaborative, families are connected to resources and support that assist them in maximizing their child’s physical, cognitive, and social/emotional development. Their purpose is to equip families experiencing homelessness in Wake County with resources to nurture the healthy growth and development of their children. Learn more at SalvationArmyCarolinas.org.

Get Involved

The Back-to-School Bash ended in July, however, there are still lots of ways you can help. They are always looking for volunteers. Email their volunteer coordinator today to see what opportunities are currently available. Project CATCH is able to impact hundreds of children and families each year, but the need is great. They simply cannot get to everyone. If you are able, they invite you to invest in their work today to support families experiencing homelessness in Wake County. Project CATCH also has a Circle of Parents program that is sponsored by Prevent Child Abuse NC. Circle of Parents is a parent-led and professionally facilitated parent and child support group that gives parents the opportunity to share in each other’s challenges and successes while developing a network of support.
