" alt="Hillman Real Estate Group" />In late October, the Hillman Real Estate Group team donned our best bowling shoes and gave our most-earnest attempt at knocking down all the pins to join the Realtor Foundation of Wake County‘s second annual “Strike Out Homelessness” Bowl-a-Thon. Held in Raleigh at AMF Pleasant Valley Lanes, the event was a sell-out success with over 40 lanes sponsored for a fun industry outing!
From our perspective, it was so great to see so many different REALTORS®, builders, lenders, and vendors getting together to support the foundation. This is actually the foundation’s biggest fundraiser of the year, generating over $20,000 in donations – double the amount of last year’s event. This is huge! The foundation partners with nonprofits that provide stable housing and healthy living services to families in the greatest of need. Since 2007, the organization has generated over $500,000 for community outreach initiatives helping our neighbors.
The competitive spirit is always alive and well with our team and this event was no exception with Jonathan squeaking by Kayla for the W. I decided a rematch was in store for another team-building event. We had a blast and shared some good laughs. Rebecca was talking the most game – but came in last so we all enjoyed ribbing her about that. 😉 Being a board member with the foundation, I was honored to take the time to get my team out of the office and into the bowling alley for a great cause!
