Team Outing: Tower Escapes in Downtown Raleigh

Last month, we celebrated team member Rebecca Wise‘s birthday by taking a team outing to The Tower Escapes in Downtown Raleigh. Have you checked out this historic building turned escape room yet?

If you’ve not had a chance to visit yet, we loved our outing and highly recommend it for your next corporate outing or family fun adventure – guests of all ages and skills are welcome. No special knowledge is required to participate but definitely make a reservation in advance by contacting them through their website at https://thetowerescapes.com/! The owner was awesome and worked with us for a private event outside of their normal business offers. They were quick to respond and willing to help in any way they could.

Located at 115 W. Morgan Street in Downtown Raleigh, this relatively new “escape room” in town is located in a national historic site, the first water tower of Raleigh. As you probably know, we dig all things Raleigh and this historic venue was the perfect place for us to get out of the office and adventure into a “new to us” space.

Once we arrived and had a mini-orientation, the goal was simple: escape from a locked room in 60 minutes using only our critical thinking skills, deductive reasoning, and logic to solve the room’s mysteries, riddles, and puzzles. The room was filled with a series of cryptic clues and padlocks, too, so we had to look high and low to make sure we didn’t miss anything in the room.

It is always nice to celebrate with our team. It isn’t uncommon that we spend more time together than most of our loved ones, so with our small team we feel more like “framily”! It was a great team-building event, always nice to change up the scenery, put on different hats, laugh, work together to solve clues, and then solve a mystery! Also, from a team leader perspective, you get to see different strengths outside of selling homes. All in all, we would do this again in a heartbeat! – Renee Hillman, HREG Team Leader

Thank you, Tower Escapes, for hosting us!

Pro Tips: Be prepared to pay for parking at the parking deck about a block down the street. We grabbed a bite to eat around the corner at Morgan Street Food Hall, too!

Where should we head next, friends?
