Putting Boots on the Ground: HREG Furnishes Ninth Apartment with REALTOR® Giving Network
At Hillman Real Estate Group, we believe that giving back isn’t just an action—it’s part of who we are. Several times each year, our team steps out of the office and into the community to roll up our sleeves, contribute our time, and support organizations that make a real difference. It’s our way of saying thank you to the community that has trusted us with their real estate needs for so long.
This fall, we had the honor of furnishing our ninth apartment in partnership with the REALTOR® Giving Network, marking a very special milestone: their 125th apartment furnished! This project, done in collaboration with The Carying Place, was an opportunity for our team to put boots on the ground and help families in need create a warm, welcoming home.
The Impact of The Carying Place
The Carying Place is a non-profit transitional housing program in Wake County dedicated to helping homeless, working families with children achieve self-sufficiency. By pairing families with volunteer Support Partners, TCP guides them through life skills, personal finance management, goal setting, and the search for permanent housing. Over a 16-week program, families gain the tools they need to thrive independently—and our furnished apartments provide a meaningful first step toward that independence.
A Team Effort That Feels Like Family
Our work on this project wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible coordination of the REALTOR® Giving Network and the dedication of Executive Director Heather Thompson. We also love teaming up with our trusted lenders, Steve and Stephanie from Silverton Mortgage, whose support helps make these efforts seamless. Furnishing an apartment isn’t just about furniture—it’s about creating a safe, comfortable space where families can start the next chapter of their lives.
