You All Brought the Undies: Eighth Annual Undies Drive 2024
We Have Some Happiness to Share – Thanks to You!
We set an ambitious goal for our eighth annual Undies Drive benefiting Note in the Pocket, determined to make an even greater impact than ever before. After devastating floods in the western North Carolina mountains, the need for support grew beyond what we had imagined. At the same time, local resources in Wake and Durham counties were being redirected to aid recovery efforts, leaving gaps in support right here at home.
To support both communities, we pledged to match every donation twofold—for every pair of undies donated, we gave two more. One pair supported Note in the Pocket’s efforts locally, while the other went to work in western North Carolina.
Thanks to your generosity, we collected over 3,000 pairs of underwear this year, and HREG donated $5,000 to Note in the Pocket and $5,000 to Clothes to Kids of Haywood County, a nonprofit that suffered devastating losses when its entire operation was flooded and had to be rebuilt.
“Hurricane Helene flooded our shop at 99 Depot Street in Clyde, NC, with four feet of water and mud. Shelves, bins, clothes, and shoes were tossed everywhere, and we lost a significant amount of inventory.” – Clothes to Kids of Haywood County
Clothes to Kids of Haywood County provides new and quality used clothing, free of charge, to lower-income and crisis-affected school-age children and youth in their community.
About Note in the Pocket
Note in the Pocket provides clothing to impoverished and homeless schoolchildren in Wake and Durham counties with dignity and love. They believe no child should be limited in their educational or social development due to a lack of appropriate clothing—and we are proud to support their incredible mission.
???? Thank you for making a difference! ????
