HREG in the Community: Furnishing Our Eighth Apartment With the REALTOR® Giving Network

Several times throughout the year, our team gets out of the office and into our community to share time together putting our hands to work for those who need it the most. We take special effort to pick a few organizations close to our hearts and really chip in both financially and physically to help give back to the community that has supported us for so long.

For this project, we volunteered with Families Together. This is work done in conjunction with the REALTOR® Giving Network, which our team leader Renée is a former board member of, and as a result, always is happy to rally the HREG team to support their work in creating these opportunities. In short, we sponsor the apartment on behalf of the RRAR REALTOR® Giving Network then they liaison with different organizations (like Families Together), movers, etc. to make it as seamless as possible. This is the EIGHTH apartment we have furnished with them and it is always such a heart-warming experience. It is also the REALTOR® Giving Network’s 97th apartment furnished!

“Families transitioning from homelessness to stable housing often move into empty homes. They lack the resources to equip their space with furniture and household goods. With financial support from Renée Hillman of the Hillman Real Estate Group and Stephen Livesay and Stephanie Davis of Silverton Mortgage, a family enrolled in our nonprofit partner Families Together is going to benefit from all the comforts of HOME.” – REALTOR® Giving Network

We love getting to work with Steve and Stephanie, two of our long-time, go-to, fabulous lenders from Silverton Mortgage!

Thank you for your support so we are able to support amazing causes like this one!

More About Families Together

Families Together provides the critical link to home for hundreds of families with children experiencing homelessness in our community every year. They believe every family deserves a home, and children should never have to wonder where they’re going to sleep at night. This is why they connect families to stable homes as quickly as possible, and why they remain connected with them to ensure that they begin the process of bettering their lives. Children experiencing homelessness are more likely to drop out of school, be exposed to violence, and face a host of behavioral, social, and health issues. Keeping families together during this traumatic time is critical for their success as well as the community’s. Learn more about how you can get involved at FamiliesTogetherNC.com.
