Modernist Home of the Month: “Heart of the Wood” in Chapel Hill
Listed courtesy of Kyle Eckenrode with NC Homestead Real Estate Group, our June Modernist Home of the Month is an architectural masterpiece. Located at 246 Coeur De Bois Lane, the home is nestled within a serene 9.27-acre forest and features two stunning bedrooms and bathrooms. Fun fact: Coeur De Bois translates to “heart of the woods.” How fitting?!
When we saw this home we immediately reached out to Kyle to see if we could feature it on our site as it is really a one-of-a-kind gem. Without further ado, let’s head to the heart of the wood and when you are ready to see it in person, give us a call at 919-877-6708. We would love the opportunity to represent you as a buyer.
The Architect

246 Coeur De Bois Lane was designed by Algerian architect Jon Andre Condoret. Condoret is know for many modernist homes but we specifically want to note that in 1992, he designed Caring House, a hotel for adult cancer patients receiving outpatient treatment at the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center. You can see more of his work at NCModernist.com. With this home, Condoret did an amazing job of seamlessly blending nature and artistry. Throughout the home, you will find floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the residence with natural light and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding woodland.

The property comes fully equipped with top-of-the-line appliances and finishes including a high-end washer and dryer and designer lighting throughout.
Views

We love how open the floorplan is, making it perfect for entertaining.

While the views downstairs are truly something, upstairs may have it beat. This loft would be perfect for an office… Working from home just got a lot more serene.

Floor-to-ceiling windows can also be found in the bedrooms and that is not even the best part…

Head outside and take in the local flora from the second-floor balcony off of the primary bedroom.

We just can’t get enough of the primary suite and all the natural light!

Outside, relax by the fire pit and enjoy the surrounding nature. For eco-conscious residents, there is a 240V outlet for electric vehicle charging!
The Perfect Balance Between Seclusion and Accessibility
This wooded hideaway is ideal for those who want nature but do not want to sacrifice on luxury. While you are away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Carrboro is just a 15-minute drive and Chapel Hill is only five minutes more. We would like to thank Kyle Eckenrode and NC Homestead Real Estate Group for giving us the details on this property and we would love to show you around today! Give us a call 919-877-6708 to schedule your showing.
