Located along the Neuse River in Clayton, Portofino is the ideal community for outdoor lovers! It features seven miles of nature trails, its own fishing pond, a sparkling pool, and access to onsite equestrian facilities—not to mention shopping, dining, entertainment, and so much more—so it’s no wonder that it was named North Carolina’s community of the year by the NC Homebuilders Association.
Within the Portofino community, there are four neighborhoods, each designed by carefully selected builders: Corker Enterprises, Crosswind Custom Homes LLC, Jarman Homes, Kirkwood Builders, Legacy Custom Homes, and Royalty Homes. These four neighborhoods include:
The Saratoga Collection
These impeccable residences—all of which are between one and four acres—feature grand entries, dramatic woodwork, and beautiful living spaces, plus many of them have trail, stream, or Neuse River views.
The Belmont Collection
The Belmont Collection boasts luxury home designs on half and acre to five plus acres. Many border the trails or streams.
The Churchill Collection
This collection of homes is accented with stone or brick and include sought-after floor plans. Ranging in size from 1,800 to 2,700 square feet, they ensure spacious and private living.
The Palio Collection – Coming Soon
Coming soon to the Portofino community, these homes will border the trail or stream.
Portofino Equestrian Center
Portofino’s biggest draw perhaps—at least for all the equestrian lovers out there!—is its Equestrian Center. It features a custom-designed 22-stall barn with paddocks, pastures, large arenas, trails, and a cross-country course. Dubbed the “Ritz Carlton” of horse homes, it’s one of the finest well-run facilities in the southeast! So you know your horse(s) will live like a queen/king. (Note that you don’t have to be a Portofino resident to utilize the equestrian facilities.)
In addition to the equestrian center, Portofino offers a host of activities for residents. Water lovers can take advantage of kayak/canoe drop-ins on the Neuse River (or take a dip in the resort-style pool!), while those who like to stay active will love the walking trails and tennis courts. Meanwhile, the spacious clubhouse—complete with windows and doors imported from Germany (!)—features indoor and outdoor wood-burning fireplaces, a banquet room, wet bar, catering kitchen, and gaming room that can easily accommodate large or small parties.
The charming town of Clayton is located less than 20 minutes from Portofino. Clayton’s Main Street offers a hub of things to do for all ages, from breweries and restaurants to shops and more. Clayton parks and The Neuse River Country Club are also nearby.
