Celebrating the Season of Giving with HREG

Last week on “Giving Tuesday”, we started off our season of giving here at Hillman Real Estate Gift pretending to be Santa’s little elves!

We love kicking off December by wrapping gifts for the kids we adopted for Christmas through the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS®’ Angel Tree project and Friends of Wake County Guardian ad Litem Program. (And what better way to efficiently wrap than all spread out on our office floor? We know you all do this at home too… it’s a holiday tradition!)

Even as much fun as we have with Angel Tree, Hillman Real Estate Group’s season of giving doesn’t stop here. We do a lot throughout the year and have even more planned – including a very cute opportunity for you to join in!

Here are a few things we’ve been fortunate to participate in already this year…

Children’s Hemiplegia and Stroke Association
When one of our clients’ children experienced a pediatric stroke this past year, we coulnd’t help but be compelled to donated to CHASA, a 20-year-old non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, teens and adults who have hemiplegia. Hemiplegia or hemiparesis means that a person has weakness or difficulty using one side of their body.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®

Did you know that RE/MAX, LLC and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals have raised $5.7 billion for children’s hospitals since 1983. A portion of EACH buyer or seller transaction represented by RE/MAX is donated to CMN and we’re humbled to continue to be a part of that tradition. (Please read more about that on our HREG blog here!)

Renee Supports REALTOR® PAC

Did you know that Renee is one of the youngest major donors to REALTOR® PAC? This initiative is a non-partisan group that actively supports protecting property rights. We believe in advocating as strongly as possible for homeowners – current and future – to ensure that a path to homeownership remains accessible for all.

Terramor Homes Parade of Play Homes

Terramore Homes, our friends and local Raleigh homebuilders, designed and built 10 play to be be raffled and auctioned off with proceeds donated to Duke Children’s Hospital and YMCA of the Triangle during their annual “Parade of Play Homes”, which we were thrilled to support. After evaluating many wonderful local charities, they felt that the two we have chosen make some of the greatest impacts on the local community that we have planted our roots in over the past 10 years and we couldn’t agree more!

Here’s what else we have on deck for this holiday season…

Catholic Parish Outreach

Each year, we are so honored to be able to make a $1,000 donation to Catholic Parish Outreach. It’s awe-inspiring how much good they do with their donations! In 2016, CPO served 8,500 people a month on average with over 1,900 volunteers and just four paid staff. (Seriously, just four staffers! Can you even imagine?)

We’re Donating Two Bikes to Triangle Spokes Group!

The Triangle Spokes Group raises money to deliver new bicycles to need-worthy children throughout the Triangle area. 100% of donations go towards the annual bike purchase! For 2017, their goal is to donate 800 bikes and we’re pleased to help with that goal by contributing two more donations toward their efforts.

Supporting The Green Chair Project

Our gal pal Stephanie Davis with Prime Lending (one of our preferred lenders) is sponsoring a whole apartment outfitting for The Green Chair Project and we’re so excited to be partnering with her on this opportunity! We’ll be shopping at The Green Chair Project for all of the home furnishings needed and we’ll be setting it up so that the new residents can move right in and get comfortable in their new, well-deserved digs in 2018. (Stay tuned for pictures and a blog recap to come!)

New for 2017: “We Want Your Undies!” We’re Collecting New Socks & Undies for Note in the Pocket

Hillman Real Estate Group Note in the Pocket Undie and Sock Drive
This is new for our holiday giving line-up in 2017 and we think this is going to be a LOT of fun to get our friends, family, and clients involved in – and just downright cute, too.

Note in the Pocket believes it is unacceptable that children are limited in their educational and social development because they do not have appropriate clothes for school. To that end, they provide clothing to impoverished and homeless children in Wake County.

This month, we’re inviting you to drop off new socks and underwear for children at our Raleigh office or feel free to ship to us – we love Amazon Prime, too 🙂 Our office is located at 100 Lynn Road – Raleigh, NC 27609.

The Specifics:
All sizes are helpful! Children ages 5-18 are the recipients of these donations.
You donate, we match! For each donation provided in the Hillman Real Estate Group drive, we’ll match each donation with an additional purchase. Undies-to-undies, socks-to-socks!
